Executive Board Meeting
/October's Exec Board Meeting is scheduled for Monday, October 2nd at 6pm in Rm 518 (all ICE Parents are welcome to attend).
Our mission is to open every door possible for our students. With a commitment to student-centered education, our vision is to provide a nurturing, creative, and challenging academic program that meets the unique needs of all students. Our dedication to maintaining small class sizes enables personal relationships and allows teachers and advisors to make meaningful connections with every student, fostering a culture of safety, support, and belonging.
At NY.ICE we develop independent thinkers through collaborative work, authentic problem-solving and inquiry-based projects. Students take risks, test theories, and learn from their hands-on experiences.
Upon graduation, we expect NY.ICE students to be a force in the world, ready to thrive in the academic, creative, social, and intellectual journeys that await them in college and beyond.

Over the last few years we have been working hard to extend our support for ICE Alumni. One of the most common requests we receive from alumni is help in securing a job. We are hoping the ICE Community will help us find work for our kids who need it.
If you (or someone you know) are aware of a job opening at your place of work or
Read MoreExceptionally hard work, extensive research, and dedication, have resulted in ICE science students Asha Karmen-Chan (15), Jasmine Hyman (16), and Albert Jurkowski (16) receiving recognition from the Genes in Space competition with an Honorable Mention award.
One of only 10 projects (out of 375 submissions) to be selected, our ICE science students share this recognition with students from Stuyvesant, Bronx Science, and other specialty tech schools across the country. Including the finalists, the math works out to their project being in the top 4% of all submissions! This is a remarkable achievement.
The entire ICE community is so incredibly proud of these students’ continually pushing themselves to complete their best work!

Debating last weekend in Chicago against 44 top teams from 22 cities around the country, Josie and Nicole crushed it. It’s not easy to get to this place. Only two teams from NYC made it: ICE andBrooklyn Tech. Arguing at a graduate level, the team focused on Feminist Disability Theory looking at the interconnectedness of disability and sex. Then they connected it to relations between the US and China!!
These are difficult, layered arguments. Josie and Nicole made it to the sweet 16, the elite of the elite, finishing 12thin the country. This is very, very big - no school from this area has ever gotten this far. You should know how much work Josie and Nicole put into this.
