Starting next week, the Humanities department will be conducting the 12G Literature Panels for our amazing seniors who have been working hard on their graduation requirement for literature.
The seniors will be presenting and defending their critical and creative work in analyzing the novels, plays, etc. that they have been reading and writing about over the past 5-6 months.
We are looking for MANY parents to volunteer their time to be part of this unique and important aspect of our school’s teaching and learning environment. Sitting on panels is a great way to see the kind of critical reading, writing, and creative work our seniors have been doing in literature.
Parents of younger students get the distinct opportunity to see what your children will be doing when they reach their final year of high school.
No prior experience or knowledge of content is needed.
Your participation on the panels is also a big help to the Humanities department. Involving the I.C.E. community beyond just the staff and students is what makes these panels so special.
The dates of these panels are:
Wednesday, December 7th, 2:30-4:30
Thursday, December 15th, 3:15-5:15
We encourage you to sign up for one OR both dates.
To participate in this wonderfully enriching activity, please fill out this google form: https://forms.gle/a2TdMFUm2Tvxwmp99
Once you fill in the form, we will be in touch with all the details for how the panel will work – and we will be happy to answer any questions you may have.
Thank you so much for your help.
Information you need before signing up: Who are my child’s teachers?
Conferences will each be 5 minutes long. Please do not schedule your conferences back to back.

Our school's boys varsity soccer team clinched a playoff berth in their final game and earned the #18 seed in the upcoming PSAL playoffs, which start this weekend. The boys will face the 15-seeded Exploration Academy of the Bronx. Any support from our school community will be greatly appreciated as we begin our quest for the city championship. Here are the details for the game if you are interested in coming out to support:

Our month of June looks different from what you may see on the DOE calendar. We do have school on both June 7th and 9th. Please follow the calendar here to be aware of the other half days and days off this month.
Dear families,
We still need a co-recording secretary! If you have considered volunteering, this job is a great entry point to the Exec Board. All responsibilities are shared with your co-secretary.
Elections for the Parent Association Executive Board and School Leadership team will be held at our June PTA meeting on Thursday, June 16th, at 6pm.
Thank you so much to the parents who have already been nominated! Please click HERE to read about the candidates. Any legal guardian of an ICE student is eligible to run. All nominations are welcome. If you have questions, want more detailed descriptions of the roles, or just want to get more involved, email us at iceschool345@gmail.com.
Deadline to submit nominations is Sunday, June 12th since we need time to create the ballot for the virtual election platform.
We are super excited to see you all (in-person!) again at the ICE Spring Fling, our annual community celebration (and fundraiser)! This is a special event where parents/guardians, teachers, and staff come together to celebrate the wonderful community we cherish at our school, raise money for essential programs for our students, and dance the night away!
We need your help to pull this off. Here’s how:
FOOD donations: Can your favorite restaurant donate appetizers/party food? Let Krissy know here!
WINE/BEER donations: Can your local wine/beer shop donate a case of wine/beer! Reach out to Krissy here!
MUSIC/ENTERTAINMENT: We’re seeking parent, teacher, or student musicians/performers for our variety show! Email Jay to perform at the event!
PHOTO BOOTH: Are you a photographer? Can you take photos or donate supplies for our photo booth?! Email Gunnar here!
