Earn college credit as a high school student. College Now classes are free but still earn you “college credit”, which can be later applied towards a college degree! This means that you don’t have to pay for that class as a college student (worth up to thousands of dollars). Keep in mind, the decision to accept College Now credits is based on the college you enroll at after you leave ICE. ICE also adds a “+1” to our GPA for each College Now class you take and receive a B or above!
Explore interests and passions you can’t at ICE. College Now offers classes in areas that aren’t offered at many high schools and is a great way to explore academic interests and coursework that may not be offered at ICE, such as psychology, anthropology, computer science, business, media, etc.
Show colleges you’re prepared for higher-level work. By taking college-level classes, you can demonstrate to colleges you are ready and prepared to do their work, which can help you in the college admissions process.
… and don’t forget about the perks! College Now students also get free books and supplies and access to college facilities such as the library. If you take a class on the weekend, they provide you with a MetroCard.
