I.C.E. PTA Executive Board Needs You

Parents, do you want to know more about the goings on at ICE? Are you interested in playing a greater role at ICE? 
 
The PTA Executive Board desperately needs some new faces. The Nominating Committee urges you to consider filling one of the open spots for the 2016-17 school year. Let’s show our hardworking faculty and staff that we support and celebrate their work, and model the benefits of collaboration for our children.

Here are the available positions with brief descriptions of duties:
 
2 Co-Recording Secretaries (Executive Board members) (a shared position - only half the work!)
The Recording Secretary shall keep the minutes of all meeting of the Membership and Board of Directors and shall prepare the minutes for Membership distribution prior to the next scheduled meeting. The Recording Secretary shall make minutes available upon request and maintain sign-in sheets for all meetings. 
 
1 Grant Writing Committee Chairperson (VP on Executive Board)
 
1 Transfer Families Liaison (VP on Executive Board)
The Transfer Families Liaison is a vital, diplomatic liaison between ICE Community and the incoming transfer families.
 
1 SLT member (we’d especially love to have a 6th grade parent)
School Leadership Team
 
1 Grade Rep for incoming 12th grade
Grade Representatives - one for each grade. the Grade Rep will be responsible for attending PTA Board meetings, communicating information to Advisory Parents of same grade for distribution to families and collecting funds for grade-wide trips and events.
 
1 Teacher/Staff Appreciation Day Chairperson
Schedule a day with the Assistant Principal (May/June) when all the teachers and staff will be in the building. Organize food (breakfast and lunch) and other “treats”. Assign parent volunteers to help on the day.
 
1 Alumni Families Coordinator
New position
 
1 Travel Coordinator
ICE believes that field trips both near and far, are a great way to augment our students’ education. ICE is looking for a volunteer to help coordinate trips.
 
 
Nominations will be presented to the PTA on May 11th. 
Elections will be held at the PTA meeting on June 8th.
